Building Communities, Be a Catalyst for Change

One of the key elements to the success of Both Sides, Now is our volunteers, who have played a crucial role in the project since the beginning in 2013. Our volunteers span all ages and are from all walks of life, each valuing connection and the power of listening, holding space for stories to be shared, and having end-of-life conversations.

Volunteers undergo training in facilitating end-of-life conversations and gain knowledge in topics related to advance care planning. They are involved with engaging communities in end-of-life conversations, facilitating participatory artworks, supporting artists in facilitating arts workshops, door-to-door outreach, front-of-house duties during events, and much more!

“My experience volunteering with Both Sides, Now has been a very enriching one! Sitting through various Community Engagement Workshops across various demographics has given me a greater insight to an array of valuable experiences and concerns faced by the Malay-Muslim community with regard to end-of-life issues.”
